ILDA POOL RULES & REGULATIONS
The following pool rules have been established to assure safe and sanitary operation of the pool and Association facilities. These rules are required for the protection of all members and their guests and to ensure their enjoyment of the Association’s facilities.
Failure to comply with these rules and with the direction of the pool manager and lifeguards at the pool may result in suspension of pool privileges or more seriously, cancellation of membership.

(Note: Unless specifically excluded, the word “pool” includes both the main and the baby pool.)

All persons using the Associations facilities or entering the Associations’ property do so at their own risk. The pool is not responsible for lost or stolen items.  A lost and found area is located adjacent to the guard area in the lobby.

The membership certificate owner is responsible for ensuring that all members and guests of the owner’s household observe and obey the following rules and regulations:

ADMITTANCE

  • Members and guests shall sign in at the main pool gatehouse when entering the Association facilities. You must include your membership share number.  The lifeguard will verify your current membership information.
  • All guests must be signed in by a sponsoring member at the time of entering the pool area and be accompanied by a member while using the Association’s facility.  All guests must have a guest pass, which can be purchased in blocks of 10 at the pool.
  • Only members of the immediate family and grandchildren of members are not required to pay guest fees. All other members’ guests must pay the guest fee.
  • The manager will determine whether the pool will be evacuated or closed for safety reasons during a thunderstorm or filter malfunction.  After no thunder is heard for at least 30 minutes but possibly up to 45 minutes the pool will reopen.
  • The pool can be used only when lifeguards are on duty, and it is officially opened or during Swim or Dive practices and meets.

GENERAL POOL RULES

  • Members shall drive slowly and carefully on the driveway and parking lot area. Bikes must be placed in the bike racks outside the main pool entrance. Skateboarding, riding scooters, and rollerblading will not be allowed inside the fenced area or, when the pool is open, in the parking lot.
  • Abusive or profane language is not permitted on Association property.
  • Running, pushing, dunking, wrestling, or causing undue disturbance is not permitted in or around the pool area. Spitting, spouting of water, or blowing your nose in the pool is not allowed.

  • Pets are not allowed within the fenced area of the Association’s property.
  • Only authorized persons will be allowed in the pool office, storage rooms, and concession stand or pump/filtration rooms.
  • Members and guests shall stay clear of the lifeguard’s stand and not talk to the guards or distract them from their duties.
  • All injuries occurring within the pool enclosure must be reported immediately to the pool manager on duty.

THE FAIRFAX COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT ALSO REQUIRES THAT:

  • No person shall use the pool who has: a skin disease, open sores, excessive sunburn, inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharge, any communicable or contagious diseases, or who is wearing bandages of any kind or description. Exceptions to this rule will be made by written certification of a physician.

  • Any child aged 12-14 must pass a swimming test administered by the pool lifeguards to use the pool unaccompanied by an adult.
  • Children under 5 years using either pool must be accompanied by an adult who shall always remain within reach of the child.
  • Children 5 years of age and older will be required to demonstrate to the pool manager an ability to swim before having access to the middle and deep end of the pool without parental supervision. (Pass a swimming test.)
